Tips for Swimsuit Shopping

Saturday, August 29, 2015

Summer is here! The joy of the beautiful weather, can, however be overshadowed by the thoughts of swimsuit shopping. No worries, I have found some great tips for you at this websites blog and added a few of our own to make the experience just a little less painful.

Things to Do Before You Hit the Stores

Take a look at the bra size that you wear; most generic sized swimwear does not fit a woman with a larger cup size. If this is you, go to your favorite lingerie store and get a bra sized suit, you will be much happier with the fit and look when your swimsuit actually fits properly in the bust. Plus they most always sell tops and bottoms separately which makes for a much better fit as well.

Apply self-tanner a day in advance to warm up winter skin. But don’t try this on the day you plan to shop. The tanner will rub off on the fabric. Check your closet for clues as to what already works on you. Love how you look in V-necked tops? Try halter cuts. Not a solid in sight? Focus on prints. Wear a seamless thong (which won’t show under swimsuits) and easy-to-remove clothing. A shift dress and slip-on flats allow for speedy changes. Allot plenty of time to shop. You don’t want to settle just because you’re in a rush. Give yourself more than a lunch hour to browse and try on. Also when you are in a specialty store enlist the sales persons help, that is what they are there for and they often have a good idea of what looks great on different body shapes! Drink a margarita, wine, whatever will fit in that flask in your purse (optional).
